Wayne (born 1960) began his musical career in the year 1984 as he entered the successfull Irish Indieband "Cactus World News". He stayed with this band until 1989 and they had one Top-40-Hit in Great Britain and the success of over 160,000 sold albums in the USA. In 1989 to 1991 Wayne played in the Irish band "Hinterland" before he worked for Ron Wood as live-musician and in the studio. During this time he also played for Bo Diddley, Bobby Womack and "Andrew Strong Commitments" on their albums.
1995 to 1998 he worked intensively with the "Hothouse Flowers". During this time Wayne's own band - named "The Sofa" - developed.
The albums and the live-gigs of Damian Dempsey, Juliet Turner (tour in summer 2004), Donovan and "The Chieftains" had his sign as drummer as well as working for the Irish singer Paul McGann and he composed several film-songs in L.A.
Wayne has been in the Songdogs since springtime 2003 and he played the drums at the promotion-tour along with the gigs in August/September 2003 and in February 2004 as substitute for Bertram Engel (who played for Udo Lindenberg at this time). But Wayne is not only a "substitute-drummer", he has his own personality and is accepted as a true Songdog.
